I posted my comment on Vish's blog before reading your blog. In that I have written that your blog might not have been in good taste. However after reading you here, I think you have been much wronged. I donot think you are advocating child labour here. And that you have touched upon valid points. This is a multidimensional problem which cannot be looked at unidimensionally. There is no need to read anything ill in your blog.

I am sure book would be a great success.
Hey Maddss, but where is Mr. Nargis Natarajan? I managed to locate him in one of the photographs!

May a times it has happened that a government servant on the verge of retirement (mostly Gr.D) dies 'accidentally' and the son/daughter given compassionate appointment. Hopefully nothing like this was the case here.

(BTW, in your 3rd paragraph "Talks a lot of my self-restraint, but lets stick to the truth and nothing but." did you mean "Talks a lot FOR my self-restraint, but lets stick to the truth and nothing but.")
Hahaha, welcome back,Spencer Been a bit irregular ofmlate. Probably would be regular after 2nd June.

Just like everybody else, I too wanted to jump to the 'erotic' reason straightaway. But thought to give it more time and read from the beginning! And boy! Wasnt it 'erotic'!hahahaha
Wonder what the guy who manages netconnections in that east coast Railway has to say! But to give devil his due, if it were not for him, you might not have found material for this blog.

Hi Aditi
Very nice narration which touched a chord in my heart and am sure would have in many hearts here too. And always, you have let reality scream out of your story.
But I wonder if this fact of poverty and population is so out of ordinary? Abject poverty in parts of country is one fact which is not unknown to people, least of all you. And the 'football team' of that Bhagalpur darzi has also been replicated many times over in other parts by other persons.
Still this story touches many chords. Because I think this story is the story of most innocent of love between mother and her children and willing sacrifice of a mother for her children. Fish was but an allegory to my mind.
Warm regards
